Senior Housing Specialist
Whether it's downsizing to a smaller home, selling their current home, moving to an assisted living or continuing care community, aging in place, or attending adult day care, I work directly with my clients and their community to "bridge the gap".
It can be an emotional journey when you or a loved one can no longer live at home. Many families don’t know where to start, let alone have the knowledge, time, or experience to find an appropriate senior living residence.

I am an NC licensed Realtor designated as a Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) and NC Notary Public. My client relationships have given me opportunities to help navigate seniors through the downsizing and moving process. With these experiences, I realized how overwhelming the process can be and opened the doors for me to support and guide seniors through the transition process. Factors such as care level, budget, lifestyle, and location are taken into consideration when finding compatible living options on your behalf. I take a personal interest in each client and do my “due diligence” to families by researching costs, staff ratios, aesthetics of the facility, quality of care, and availability, and asking other necessary questions. Transparency and communication are of the utmost importance to me.

Each family and their needs are unique and I am passionate about treating each client with the respect, compassion, and dignity they deserve. I provide a free in-person assessment to discover personal interests and the level of care needed without contracts.

Whether you are in the research phase getting a head start on your future, or in a difficult situation and need immediate help, I am eager to assist you or your loved one on a journey to a new beginning!

Finding the right senior living option for yourself or your loved one can be overwhelming, time-consuming, and confusing. When it comes to senior placement, I understand that it’s not a “one-size-fits-all” approach. As your senior housing specialist, I take the time to get to know you and your family to provide recommendations that best fit you or your loved one based on care needs, budget, location, and availability. I only recommend licensed communities that I tour, research, and review for state compliance. I would be honored to partner with you as you navigate these next steps, answer all of your questions, and help you choose the best option to call HOME.

Transitions can be difficult and sometimes it’s hard to acknowledge the changes happening because complex and disruptive decisions have to be made. My goal with each client is to understand their needs and to treat every family as if they were my own. I take my job as a senior housing specialist very seriously & I am passionate about helping families through this unfamiliar journey with the trust, compassion, & support that is deserved.

Stepping Stones is here to help navigate seniors through the complex and emotional transition of finding the most suitable housing option. We work hard on your behalf to research and tour communities and be your advocate. We are honored to be a part of your journey and a beneficial resource to the Triangle community.

Meet Don
“ Evelyn came into our lives when we needed her the most. My wife’s illness was advancing and we needed to find an assisted living to help with her care. Evelyn narrowed down my choices to a few communities that were the best fit and accompanied me on the tours. Her knowledge and patience were great, but her personality was the true connection for me.” -Don
Hello, I’m so glad you’re here! I want to share a little about myself & why I became a Senior Housing Specialist.
This is one of my past clients (and now dear friend) Don. He reached out to me very upset, overwhelmed, and unsure of what to do. A few years prior, Don’s wife was diagnosed with a terminal illness and the 24-hour nursing care had basically bankrupted them. The only solution left was to downsize, sell their home, and move his wife to an assisted living. Don did not have children or family to rely on for emotional support nor the physical help needed to pack & sell their home. More importantly, Don needed to immediately find an assisted living that would be able to manage his wife’s declining health. Seeing him so stressed and helpless about where to begin, I felt the urgency to jump in and help him with more than real estate. Don desperately sought compassion, trust, and understanding as he explored choices for the next phase of life and I knew I was his person. We toured various facilities together and successfully placed Don and his wife in a beautiful independent living apartment in a residential family care home.
Through my real estate experiences and clients I’ve helped place into senior housing, came the idea to build a niche business that could help mature adults find their homes. No one should feel scared, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to navigate a new phase of life. Stepping Stones would be honored and privileged to help you or a loved one whether it’s selling, buying, downsizing, or finding the right fit with senior housing. We are here to guide you on each step to new beginnings.
